Valentine's Weekend at the Hassayampa Inn-Prescott, Az

Well, I just finished a fun weekend taking portraits of couples staying at the Hassayampa Inn in beautiful Prescott, Arizona. The Hassayampa offers a fabulous Romance Package that includes dinner, breakfast, champagne or wine, chocolate covered strawberries and a night in the historic inn. People from all over come to stay at this charming inn and just about everyone I talked to, were repeat customers. People were celebrating anniversaries, Valentine's Day and birthdays. It was so nice to talk to each couple and hear their stories.

This is the Gurley St. entrance to the Hassayampa. The Spirits Lounge is where locals and travelers alike meet and converse in this totally warm and cozy bar and lounge. They have great Happy Hour prices and you can order from the dinner menu, or order from the appetizer menu. The place is very well known for how outstanding their food is. If you get a chance you should make a visit, you won't regret it.
My daughter Casey works in the restaurant and bar there. We celebrated her Valentines Day Birthday while we both worked! It was nice to spend it with her even though we were both busy.
This was the sweetest couple with the greatest story. They booked the Romance Package to celebrate their wedding anniversary. I believe they said it was their 3rd year coming back to the Hassayampa to celebrate. They first dated in High School, moved on and married others each having 4 children each. Diane Higbee was married 39 years when her husband Jack passed and Rob was married 44 years when his wife passed. They began emailing each other and decided to meet up....they were married a month later. Speaking with both of them, you could tell the love they still had for their departed spouses and the love they share today. It was most heartwarming. You can visit her webpage  here  www.dianareginato.com/dianas-story/  Diane wrote a book about dealing with her grief , "While the Wind Blows". I am excited to read it and pass it on to my sister and her daughter.

This cute couple came all the way from Conneticut. We discussed our winters, and though ours was mighty cold at times, 81 inches of snow sure beats us. They were headed toward Sedona, the Grand Canyon and then on to Las Vegas. They are going to a class reunion  from their school in the Phillipines! Marvin told me they found everyone on Facebook. At the Vegas reunion they will be discussing a "Grand Reunion" in the Phillipines. Facebook has sure made the world a smaller place.

Across the street is the newly restored Elks Theater. I am going to make it a point  to see a show there. I really want to see the refurbished theater.

3 very nice young men  from Douglas getting prepared for their baseball game against Yavapai College.
They seemed quite interested in the paranormal acitvity at the Hassayampa. They were told a lot of activity occurs on the 4th floor. I just wonder if they sneaked out of their room to go taunt the spirits.

Do you believe in ghosts?
