Northern Arizona Day Trip

Last week I headed up to Flagstaff on business and was greeted by cool 81 degree temps. It was so nice! The traffic was crazy as it just happened to be the day the dorms opened at NAU. I strolled around the downtown area taking in the history and architecture. My son went to NAU in the early 2000's and I never stopped in town to look around. It's quite charming.
The historic Monte Vista Hotel was built in 1926.Located just one block north of famous Route 66, the Hotel Monte Vista has been home to thousands of adventurous and colorful characters, from bank robbers, to headlining Hollywood stars.
This is the historic Weatherford Hotel built in 1900.

You can see the dome at NAU from this viewpoint taken near the Lowell Telescope.

Church of the Nativity on the corner of Beaver and Cherry Streets. Such beautiful architecture!
Leaving Flagstaff, I took Hwy 89 down Oak Creek Canyon. I love that drive, it is so pretty.

Tlaquepaque (pronounced Tla-keh-pah-keh), Sedona Arizona's Arts & Crafts Village.
There is some amazing art in this unique village.
